Postage Dues

The very last Barbados Postage Due stamps were taken off sale in the General Post Office in Barbados in 2010 and there are no plans to issue any more.  I know this as I actually got the last two sets from the Philatelic Bureau when I was there in August 2010 and the very lovely Angela went downstairs to the general counters to see if she could rustle up any more sets for me!

Postage Due Covers

Finding covers with Barbados Postage Due stamps affixed can be quite a challenge. The stamps were first issued in 1934 and earlier covers are generally quite easy to find as several dealers have them in stock, the problem, however, is that they are quite expensive. Prices for these covers typically range from £125 up to £1,500, with many of them selling for around £500. Building a collection, therefore, is quite a challenge.

Ironically, possibly harder to find and yet not priced as highly, are covers bearing Postage Due stamps from the 1970s onwards, especially those bearing any of the final postage Due stamps issued from 1976 onwards. Any cover with these postage dues on (D14-D19) is hard to acquire and unsurprisingly, in ten years of looking, I only have three.

This part of the gallery is an area where I can illustrate different Barbados Postage Due covers from any era and the following will be added to as and when new covers arrive.
