From the 1937 Coronation issue, there were then just nine issues until King George VI untimely death in 1952, and the accession of Queen Elizabeth II to the throne.
The 1938 issues are effectively the second set of definitives, utilising a similar design to the 1925 set but without the ‘postage & revenue’ script at the top of the stamps. This series has been widely studied and contains some excellent flaws to look out for. Again, the issues of this reign are a rich study area as despite the lack of new designs there are many variables, particularly plate flaws, which make for interesting and rare variants.
