Today marks a momentous occasion in the history of Barbados with the transition to a Republic. On the Anniversary of its Independence on 30th November 1966, this date in 2021 heralds in a new era for the island and the installation of Dame Sandra Mason, the current Governor-General, as the new Head of State.
